If you’re like most introverts, the idea of going on a date can be terrifying. You worry about how to behave and what to say. All eyes are on you and it feels really unnatural.

After doing some research, from the comfort of my home, I discovered that there are a lot of introverts who feel exactly the same way as me.

In fact, one psychologist has suggested that dating might be more difficult for an introvert than it is for a socially anxious person! It’s certainly true that we face many unique challenges that our extrovert counterparts might not even really consider.

Just think about it: we love to spend time alone, we prefer to talk over the phone rather than in person, and we don’t like too much excitement or stimulation. To us introverts, going on a date can feel more like an endurance test than a romantic evening out.

Today I’m going to discuss why dating online might be a great way for you to find love as an introvert.

Is Online Dating Good for Introverts?

When you think about it, a face-to-face date feels more like an interview than anything else.

You’re constantly having to be on your guard and decide whether the person across from you might be a good match for you or not.

But what if all of that could be condensed into a few quick, impersonal messages? That would be much easier for us introverts wouldn’t it?

Online dating is also great for people who like to think before they speak.

In person, you’re constantly having to second guess yourself and worry that something might come out wrong or awkward. But online dating allows you to carefully compose what you want to say before sending it and to avoid potentially embarrassing misunderstandings.

Online dating also encourages you to communicate more with your potential dates in less time. That’s great for introverts who like to get to the heart of the matter quickly and prefer not to waste too much time on small talk.

If someone is no longer a good match, you give them a quick “Hey, it was really nice to get to know you but I don’t feel the same way” and then move on. For introverts, that’s a huge relief because we tend to be quite sensitive and want to avoid rejection at all costs.

With online dating, there are fewer opportunities for awkward situations, as well as fewer chances to embarrass yourself.

Online dating is great for introverts because it allows us to quickly get to the heart of the matter and decide whether something might be worth pursuing or not. It also gives you a chance to measure someone’s personality without them even having to pick up on your introverted ways.

Introverts Can Excel at Online Dating

I think it’s true that introverts are better at communicating over the internet than extroverts.

A study has shown that introverts are not at a disadvantage when they have to write essays over video chats, while extroverts tend to struggle with this type of task.

It makes sense as introverts usually prefer having time to think about what they will say before speaking.

It also helps that we introverts are pretty good at keeping things strictly to the point. we like to keep things simple because we wouldn’t want to waste our energy when we can prevent it.

Let me suggest you these online dating tips to help you excel at your journey without losing energy.

Online Dating Sites Are Not Just For Extroverts!

Whether you’re an introvert, ambivert, or extrovert, I’d still recommend giving online dating a try! You never know who might be out there (no pun intended).

When it comes to online dating, there are a lot of myths perpetuated about introverts and extroverts.

Many people think that introverts don’t go on online dates at all or that they only do so once in a while. But in fact, there are a lot of introverted people who use dating apps!

Many introverts would like to find love but worry that they won’t be able to do so given their quiet personality. If you feel this way, pick a suitable app, make an appealing dating profile and try online dating!

It’s a great opportunity for introverts to meet people who might share the same interests or hobbies as them and who will understand their need for privacy when it comes to sharing personal information.

CONCLUSION

I hope this article will help answer the question: Is online dating good for introverts? and pushes you to give online dating a try!

And a quick, personal note from me to you, if you are an introvert:  Take care of yourself. If you take care of your body and soul and are kind to yourself and others, the rest will fall into place.
